About The Old Buoy Inn:

The Old Buoy Inn was open in March 2025 and independently owned and

managed by Neal & Nicola.

We are a unique offering within Seahouses offering a discerning menu for
diners and seven beautiful en suite rooms, all with spectacular sea views.
Food being served between 8am and 8pm including breakfast, lunch and diner.
The Old Buoy inn has a small but valued team working hard behind the scenes
creating local delicacies for our guests and residents to enjoy.
Neal is a local lad who is a self employed fisherman who has fished from north
Sunderland Harbour (Seahouses) since a boy, learning his skills from his
father, a self-taught fisherman who also fished these coastal waters.
Supplying customers near and far, Neal mainly fishes for crab and Lobster
from his own boat, Mary May sailing every day weather permitting; as far out
as 30 miles. Look out for the Mary May in the Harbour where his boat is

moored when not out at sea.

Nicola has harnessed over 20+ years of hospitality leadership experience and
when what was the St Aidans Hotel became available, it was a great
opportunity to combine their talents and open The Old Buoy Inn.
The Family have a long history in Seahouses and have been involved in
supporting the new venture on many levels, including Grandma Gabrielle
providing the homemade favourite bakes such as Lemon Drizzle cake.
We pride ourselves on delivering local seafood specialities with a fresh
independent feel, alongside more traditional recipes, all expertly provided by

Head Chef Alex and his team.

The Old Buoy Inn has a small dedicated and valued team working hard behind
the scenes to give all of our guests a memorable and enjoyable experience

and a comfortable and relaxing stay.
